What is the ratio of campers to counselors?
Our camper to counselor ratio is 5 to 1.

Who will be working with my child?
Our staff consists of current and former professional teachers, coaches, athletes, and college students. We also will be giving high school students the opportunity to volunteer and gain valuable work experience from working at camp. ALL paid and volunteer staff will submit to fingerprinting and background checks.

Can my child be in the same group as a friend?
YES – Because there is NO grouping of children. Camp is structured so that children can interact with old friends and new friends. In All Star Camp children are free to choose whatever sport or leisure activity they like to participate in. Our camp is unique in that we offer a variety of activities for the kids to choose from. However, children CAN NOT just wander off or sit on a bench and do nothing.

Do you offer transportation?
No – Unfortunately we do not offer any type of transportation for children to get to or from camp.

What is a typical day at Camp like?
It is our goal is to expose the children to traditional and non-traditional sports and leisure activities while having FUN. The daily schedule will include lots of exciting and fun things to engage in like soccer, math lab, golf, mad science and arts & crafts. Each camper is allowed to choose which sport or activity he or she wants to engage in everyday. A daily schedule of activities can be found on the website,
www.la-sportskidz.com

Do you take Field Trips?
NO - We are committed to fulfilling our mission and achieving goals as it pertains to making a difference in the lives of children. Taking children on field trips to places they have already visited on the weekend does not fit into our plans for your child. We respect and appreciate your willingness to pay LA-Sports Kidz to interact and teach your child (ren) sports and leisure activities. Busing your child (ren) to the local amusement park, outdoor mall or baseball game is merely giving this responsibility to someone else. It is also our opinion that parents should not have to pay additional money every week for extra activities. We are confident that our staff is creative enough to keep your child entertained and engaged ALL day.

What do you do EXTRA HOT days?

Most of the activities that require a lot of running or interaction at a fast pace will take in place the morning. In the afternoon children will engage in indoor games, water fights, slip & slide with water, special presentations and other FUN activities that do not require being in the heat for extended period of time.

Are the sports activities competitive?
NO - NO – NO!!! ALL sports and leisure activities will be conducted in a non-competitive environment. Every child will be engaged and reassured that camp is the place to learn and have plenty of FUN!!

Do I have to pay for the July 4th holiday?
NO - We will not charge anyone for the holiday.

What should my child bring to camp?
A hat, water bottle and sunglasses might be good. We will provide sunscreen for campers. If children bring water bottles please put their NAME on it but we will also have cups at the ready for water throughout the day. Please leave all game boys, trading cards and valuables at home. La-Sports Kidz staff will not be responsible for any toys, games, or other items lost at camp.

How can I get a copy of the schedule for camp?
You can download a copy from the website and we will have copies available at the camp sign in table everyday.

What method of payment is acceptable at your camp?
